It was meet and greet for Riccarton residents and this year's crop of Canterbury University students at the Connect 2018 event, held at Harrington Park on Sunday, 3 March.
It's the third year the event has been held, and the beautifully sunny day was the perfect occasion an afternoon of entertainment, fun activities and resource information sharing, plus free food and loads of prizes.
Organisers say that connecting students with their community provides positive participation and enables a strong foundation for engagement and partnership now and in the future.
And there was an impressive list of sponsors: Christchurch City Council, University of Canterbury, New Zealand Red Cross, Canterbury Police, New Zealand Institute of Sport (NZIS), Canterbury Neighbourhood Support, Suicide Awareness / Prevention, Oak Development Trust, Mitre 10 New Zealand, Riccarton Community Garden, Growers Direct Market, Riccarton Baptist Church, Smiggle, Tip Top, UC RecCentre, and Bunnings Warehouse.
