Plans to lower the speed limit on Riccarton Rd have sparked mixed feedback.
The City Council wants to introduce a 30km/h limit between Matipo St and Straven Rd.
As part of a package deal, it is also proposing to introduce a 40km/h speed limit on the side streets between Riccarton Rd and Riccarton Bush -- including Rata St, Rimu St, Titoki and Kauri St.
The Riccarton Bush-Kilmarknock Residents Assocation is calling for a much feedback as possible from Riccarton residents so it can make a submission on its behalf. It has compiled a 3min survey to get an indication from residents on their views.
Association chairman Tony Simons said early indications from residents have been that people like the idea of reducing the speed limit on Riccarton Rd -- but the side streets should be reduced the same amount amount.
