Changes to Christmas/New Year rubbish collection days

Rubbish collectionThe Christchurch City Council says that  rubbish collections will continue as normal on public holidays, except for New Year’s Day, Easter Good Friday, Anzac Day and Christmas Day.

On those public holidays wheelie bins will be emptied the day following normal collection day for that week.

As Christmas and New Year’s Day fall on a Monday this year, collection will move to Tuesday, the Tuesday collection to Wednesday, the Wednesday collection to Thursday, the Thursday collection to Friday and the Friday collection to Saturday.

To keep track of when your wheelie bin needs to go out, download the free wheelie bins app at the Apple AppStore or on GooglePlay.
